Inclusive Leadership Beyond Good Intentions.

Leadership today requires more than good intentions. It asks for leaders who show up consciously, understand their impact, and take responsibility for the environments they shape. Beyond Good Intentions is a leadership programme that supports organisations in attracting and retaining  talent by building psychologically safe teams and embedding inclusive decision-making into everyday practice.
The programme consists of three interactive half-day group sessions combining theory, video materials, practical exercises and group dialogue. This dynamic approach ensures that learning is immediately translated into practice and sustainably embedded in everyday behaviour.

Here’s all you need to know about this programme:

1. This programme is for those who:

  • Are willing to start with themselves: reflecting on their role, assumptions, blind spots and automatic responses.
  • Want to respond consciously and effectively to tension, resistance or uncertainty in conversations about difference, power or safety.
  • Want to move beyond doing what they think is right, and learn how to genuinely listen, engage and understand what is really happening within their teams and organisations.

2. Leadership capabilities you’ll develop:

  • Self-reflection & cultural sensitivity: Participants examine how their background, biases and assumptions shape how they see others, and how identity and position influence safety and access.
  • Self-regulation & inclusive communication: Participants learn to stay present and grounded in tense situations, and to communicate with empathy and clarity. They practice difficult conversations, inclusive language and effectively addressing microaggressions.
  • Inclusive decision-making: Participants gain tools to integrate inclusion into decision-making by amplifying diverse perspectives and navigating power dynamics.

3. The learning journey:

  • Start: self-assessment & reflection. Participants begin with a self-assessment: they assess themselves and receive peer feedback on five core capabilities (self-reflection, cultural sensitivity, inclusive communication, multiple perspectives, and inclusive decision-making).
  • Deepening: practice & reflection. Before each session, participants complete a preparatory assignment. In the first session, they are paired with a buddy with whom they check in between sessions, exchange feedback, and hold each other accountable.
  • Embedding: reflection & continued development. At the end, we reflect on progress: to what extent have learning goals been achieved, and what's needed to continue? Participants leave with concrete next steps, and buddies are encouraged to stay in touch.

4. Programme structure:

  • The programme consists of three half-day sessions. Each session starts at 9:30 a.m. and concludes around 12:30 p.m.
  • The sessions will take place at a location to be agreed upon. The group size is a maximum of 10 participants, ensuring space for personal attention and meaningful interaction.
  • Prior to each session, participants will receive a preparatory assignment. The time commitment consists of three mornings, plus up to one hour of preparatory work per session.
